About Tess
Why work with me?
I have a deep belief that good coaching can make a positive difference to people’s lives and careers. I tailor my coaching to the client concerned and can draw upon a range of tools and techniques to help you get the best from your sessions.
I have successfully worked with newly appointed CEOs who want to develop their confidence and leadership abilities; people who want to get back into work or take the next step up the ladder; those disillusioned with their current career; those who are overwhelmed by the stresses and trauma that work, and life, can bring. In 2021/2 I have been providing wellbeing coaching to senior partners of a global lawyer firm via Clarity Stress and Trauma.

I have a particular interest in working with those from the social sectors, including aid workers, teachers and those in the health professions. My experience working with such clients has enhanced skills in working with people who struggle with work / life balance and wellbeing, and has strengthened my belief that all coaches should be trauma informed.

I can build positive rapport with people quickly and easily. I am practical but warm, and am not afraid of the spiritual; you would be amazed what a little open mindedness, and mindfulness, can bring.

Background and Qualifications:
I have worked in the humanitarian sector for over 23 years, in progressively senior roles to Directorate level. My coaching practice draws on this experience, where appropriate. Since becoming self employed in 2017, I have pursued professional coaching qualifications and continue to learn and develop.

Alongside coaching practice and study, I continue to be connected to the humanitarian world, taking on consultancies, and delivering personal safety and security training for those travelling to hostile environments. Involvement in these training courses has furthered my interest in the impact of stress on the body and mind and the importance of mental well-being and self awareness.
